North District is one of the oldest and smallest urban districts of Taichung City. It extends for 6.94 square km, just north of Taichung Railway Station. The populations is about 147,000.
A few universities and some of the the best high schools are located in the North District. The district also includes important Taichung attractions, such as the National Museum of Natural Science, Confucius Temple and Taichung Park.
